GolfLogix GPS app review

Members of the amateurgolf.com Player Staff Program took the GolfLogix app to test --- and it passed

There are a few ways to look at a product within the golf industry that can appeal to and be useful for players of all skill levels. When it comes to GolfLogix, it's a great thing. With plenty to offer the high-handicapper to the scratch player --- and beyond --- the GolfLogix GPS smartphone application is a tool built to help all golfers improve their games. GolfLogix is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry users with an easy-to-operate app available for download. GolfLogix offers a free membership and a $19.99 upgrade to become a Champion member, which offers a number of additional features that don't come at the initial level, including club tracking, golf tips, calories burned counter and much more. The application offers a number of features for users, including scoring, club tracking, distance on every shot to the green and various other spots, hole flyovers and more. The amateurgolf.com Player Staff Program recently reviewed the GolfLogix GPS application and was pleased with its performance: FAVORITE FEATURES: For a group as serious about golf as our Player Staff Program, the additional features were crucial. One feature that was used well was the in-depth statistics function, which is available for all members. GolfLogix's stats feature provides golfers the opportunity to track nearly every piece of their game, including scoring average, scoring on par, fairways hit (and missed), greens in regulation, chipping shots, putting totals, scrambles and sand saves. "I am a statistics junkie," said Player Staff Member Trey Kemp. "I thought the stats feature was easy to use and it has a nice summary." Inside the app, each golfer has a scrollable page presenting their chosen statistics through graphs and charts. Other Player Staff Members were happy about the information provided by the hole flyovers and layout. CLUB TRACKING: Members of our group of Player Staff Program typically play in competitive tournaments and the club tracking feature on the GolfLogix application was extremely useful when determining which clubs are needed while playing at courses where the local knowledge was needed. "I have used the club tracking feature and it was very helpful in terms of tracking distances and clubs on various holes," member Brent Brockermeyer said. The club-tracking feature on the GolfLogix app allows players to track certain clubs and the distance those clubs carry. The Champion Member-only feature also shows those distances when using the hole layout feature before hitting a shot. EASE OF USE: GolfLogix's most crucial element may not be a feature, though. The key to a golfer enjoying the GolfLogix experience lies in its ease of use --- both physically and technically. For starters, the program runs off of a device millions of golfers already have in their possession. While there are certainly benefits to the laser range finders on the market, most golfers can easily download the GolfLogix app to their existing mobile device, eliminating the need to purchase, carry and care for another piece of technology. At just $19.99 to gain all of the GolfLogix benefits, it's a terrific alternative to the handheld GPS and laser range finder devices. The application, itself, is extremely easy to use with a user-friendly and intuitive process to follow whether in the middle of a round or looking back on your play.
