Bushnell Tour Z6 rangefinder review

Available in April, the Tour Z6 is quick and effective, combining the best features of previous Bushnell models

What once was a novelty has become a must-have for serious golfers. And Bushnell, the Overland Park, Kan. optics company, is leading the way. Bushnell produces binoculars, scopes, GPS, trail cameras and laser rangefinders for a number of sports and recreational activities. For golfers, though, the company's GPS and rangefinder products are most important. We caught up with Bushnell recently at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. where we reviewed the new Tour Z6 Laser Rangefinder. Available in April, the Tour Z6 is a quick and effective range finder, combining the best features of previous Bushnell models. The first feature noticeable to users is undoubtedly the instantaneous acquisition of targets. Bushnell's Extreme Speed Precision (E.S.P.) helps golfers gain yardage readings faster and more accurately than ever before. "The Tour Z6 is very fast acquiring the target," said Bushnell's Jordan Vermillion. "And it can do so up to a half yard in terms of accuracy." Bushnell's Tour Z6 also features Vivid Display Technology, which allows for improved display in all lighting conditions. Built in aluminum housing and rubber armor, the Tour Z6 is durable yet lightweight and slim enough to not be a hassle to use during your round. The HD lens is covered with a Rainguard coating. While the added features and creature comforts sure are nice, the Tour Z6 handles its main task very well. It can zero in on the flag from 450 yards out while eliminating background hazards with the company's trademarked PinSeeker Technology. All told, the Bushnell Tour Z6, packs quite the punch in a small package.
