ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 23, 2014) -- Sam Bernstein leads the way early on at the 2014 Ike Championship. Bernstein, who plays at Yale, fired an opening-round 4-under, 66 and is atop the crowded leaderboard at the Metropolitan Golf Association's first major championship of the season Mike Stamberger sits at 3-under 67 and alone in second place late on Day 1. A group of three players, including recent New Jersey Mid-Amateur winner, Brian Komline, sits at 1-under. The 59th Ike Championship is being held at Montclair Golf Club and features a full field of 129 of the top amateurs.
