ALTOONA, Wisc. (June 17, 2014) -- Top seed Andrew Cobb is on to the quarterfinals at the 2014 Wisconsin State Match Play Championship.
Cobb was a 4 and 2 winner over No. 64 Trevor Thomas and beat No. 32 Ben Skogen 5 and 4 to remain alive into the third day of action at Eau Claire Golf & Country Club.
No. 2 seed Chapin Orr was upset in the first round of play, falling to Danie Hughes, the No. 63 seed. Hughes went on to win his second-round match and will head to the quarterfinals.
Upsets were the story in the first two rounds of match play. After the top seed Cobb, No. 9 Josh Udelhofen is the lowest seed remaining.
