While 34 rules used to govern play, the modernization condensed that to 24 rules, each with its own sub-rules. There rules are published in full on the USGA site for players who would like to familiarize themselves with them.

Taking relief
Areas of the course
Equipment
Playing a ball
When to play during a round
Player behavior
