ATASCADERO, CALIF (May 23, 2011) -- Justin Warthen came from five shots back to force a playoff and eventually win the 2011 San Luis Obispo County Amateur with a 67 at Dairy Creek Golf Course yesterday.
Rory Doll started the day two shots clear of Levi Garcia and five ahead of the ever-dangerous Warthen. Doll's 73 at the 6,500 yard, par-71 Dairy Creek layout gave Warthen the opening he would need to force extra holes.
Garcia missed the playoff by single shot with scores of 69-71--140.
Alex Romo finished solo fourth with scores of 74-69--143
