OREM, UT (May 11, 2016) - Dana Nelson and Ron Davis have battled their way through a talented bracket and will square off in tomorrow's Utah Senior Match Play final at Sleepy Ridge Golf Club.
Nelson, the four-seed, defeated top-seeded Craig Wilson 3&1 to reach the finals. The match was all-square after 12 holes but Nelson was able to win three of next five holes and win the match.
His opponent, 10-seed Ron Davis, took care of business in the semifinals by eliminating 14-seed William Piazza 2&1. All-square after the 13th Davis won 14 and 17 to close out the match out.
The championship match is set to begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
SUPER SENIOR DIVISION
Four-seed Doug Marriott and six-seed Steven Brinton will square off in the Super Senior Division final. They will tee off tomorrow at 7:45 a.m.
Marriott defeated top-seed Val Cahoon 3&1 to reach finals while Brinton was a 2&1 victor over second-seeded Ruben Escobedo.
