USC takes Bruins Wave Invitational by Eight Shots

USC has now won three-times this year as three players finished inside the top-10

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (February 27, 2018) - Just one player finished under-par at the Bruin Wave Invitational where scoring proved to be difficult, however when the dust settled it was USC (+32) who was left standing alone atop the standings. USC earned their third win of the season by outlasting host UCLA (+40) who finished second, defending champion Stanford (+42) was third, San Diego State (+49) took fourth while in fifth it was Washington (+50). Four of the top-five in the standings were Pac-12 teams as a total of six competed at a cold San Luis Obispo Country Club. The Trojans were led by four players in the top-16; Jennifer Chang (T3; +6), Allisen Corpuz (T4; +8), Gabriela Ruffels (T7; +10) and Alyaa Abdulghany (T16; +13). In the medalist race UCLA junior Lilia Vu won the title. The win was her third straight and the seventh of her career, tying her with Bronte Law for the most in school history. Vu, 1-under, was the only player to finish under-par as she combined rounds of 69-71-75 to defend her Bruin Wave Invitational title. Stanford's Albane Valenzuela was second at 1-over, USC's Chang was third at 6-over and in a share of fourth it was Corpuz of USC and UCLA's Mariel Galdiano at 8-over.
