The Championship Flight led play this morning after the final groups finished their remaining holes of the first round. Ben Blundell and Jordan Cook, both from Oklahoma City, Okla., came out red hot and fired a front nine score of 6-under par 29. Blundell and Cook finished with a 5-under par 66, backing up their first round score for a total of 129.

Danny Licursi aced the 200 yard, par 3 fourth hole as steady rain was hovering over scenic Forest Highlands Golf Club for majority of the morning. Licursi, however, didn’t let that stop him as he had three birdies and the ace in a four hole stretch to help the duo cruise to top of the leaderboard.
When asked about their stellar play after the second round of play, Licursi and Osborn noted that their combined effort of not only each other, but also their playing competitors. Playing alongside Licursi and Osborn was the team of Jason Vedadi and Rob Mangini, who also played well and shot 6-under par 65. “Acing the par 3 fourth really helped us gain momentum as a team” said Licursi.
With the completion of the Championship Flight, the field has been cut to the low 17 teams. Tee times will begin at 9:00 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., off #8 and #1 tee respectively.
As a result of the suspension of play earlier in the afternoon, play for the afternoon wave, consisting of both Senior and Super Senior Division players, was again suspended by the Tournament Officials due to darkness at 6:15 p.m.
Play will commence at 7:30 a.m. local time for teams needing to finish their second round of play.
