Two teams share Straight Down Fall Classic

Bryce Molder and Jim Strickland; Jason Ballard and Mike Rowley share the Straight Down Fall Classic title

SAN LUIS OBISOPO, CA (December 3, 2017) - On a day where six teams had a realistic shot at winning the Straight Down Fall Classic title it was the teams of PGA Tour winner Bryce Molder and Jim Strickland; Jason Ballard and Mike Rowley sharing the victory. The co-champions finished 11-under at San Luis Obispo Country Club and one shot in front of a pair of teams at 10-under. Molder and Strickland, the defending champions, combined rounds of 64-66 on the par-71 layout to earn their share of the title. For Ballard, a PGA Professional at Oak Hill Country Club, and Rowley it was tallies of 65-67 that left them in a tie atop the leaderboard. Early in Saturday's first round the duo seemed to be in trouble following an even-par front nine before catching fire on the second nine with an eagle and three birdies, including three consecutive to finish the round. Tim Flemming and Alan Bratton; PGA Tour veteran Ricky Barnes and Andrew Medley shared third at 10-under while in a tie for fifth it was five-time PGA Tour winner Nick Watney and Jordan Scott; PGA Tour rookie Brandon Harkins and Verna Tony at 9-under. The format of the Straight Down Fall Classic is one pro, paired with one amateur -- pros are PGA Club pros and members of various professional tours.
