On the newly restored Bacon Park Golf Course, an original Donald Ross design, Trey Kent shot one of just four under par rounds to win by three

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Trey Kent, playing the newly restored Donald Ross layout, Bacon Park Golf Course, shot one of just four under-par rounds during the 36-hole Savannah City Amateur Tournament. He fired 68 on day one to lead John Skeadas III by a stroke, then posted a respectable 73 on day two when just one player broke par. Kent, who caddies for Mark Silvers on the Web.com Tour, finished at 141 for a three-shot victory Skeadas III's son, John Skeadas II. His back-to-back rounds of 72 put him at two-over 144 to tie for he runner-up spot with his father (69-75). It had been 10 years since Kent had played in the Savannah City, when he finished runner-up in 2005. “I’m happy and relieved to have such an up-and-down round but still be able to win the tournament,” Kent told the Savannah Morning News.
