Jodee Tindal picked her last SCJGA event to claim the women’s champion. The Rock Hill Native, SC is headed off to Mercer University next year and needed a clutch playoff performance to win. Jensen Castle (West Columbia, SC) fired 75 to tie Tindal in regulation at 147. Tindal’s 71 was the only score under par for Sunday in the girls 13-18 bracket and her four foot par putt sealed the tournament.
The Boys 13-14 had to go to playoff to determine a champion. Zachary Reuland (Rock Hill, SC) and Tanner Pilgrim (Easley, SC) both tied in regulation at 152. Tanner took it on the first hole with a solid par to claim the championship. Waymon Thomas (Mt. Pleasant, SC) came to the last hole tied for the lead in the boys 10-12 bracket. A fifteen foot birdie putt on the par 5 gave him a one stroke victory over William Jennings of Greenville, SC.
The girls 10-12 bracket took extra holes between Mollly Hardwick (Lexington, Sc) and Abby Franks (Roebuck, SC) after they finished regulation play at 85. A solid two putt par gave Hardwick the title after her good friend Abby struggled on the par four first hole. The boys 10-12 and girls 10-12 played 2 rounds of 9 and finished their event on Saturday.
