Trans-Miss Four Ball: Guillion, Mumford dominate at Bandon

Joey Guillion and Brent Mumford finish three-day event at 17-under, win by eight strokes

BANDON, Oregon (Oct. 9, 2008) -- The team of Joey Guillion and Brent Mumford sandwiched a second-round 63 between a pair of 67's at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort to win the 28th annual Trans-Mississippi Four Ball by a convincing eight strokes. Guillion, a former University of Minnesota golf team member and Mumford, from Lake Forest, Ill. finished the tourney at 17-under-par. A trio of teams finished at 9-under 205: Kevin Kobalter and Gary Young; Mike McCoy and Gene Elliot; Todd Palmaer and David Nelson. The event was played at all three courses at Bandon Dunes (which is also the site of the popular amateurgolf.com travel event, the Two-Man Links at Bandon Dunes). Round one was at Bandon Trails, round two was at Pacific Dunes and the final round was at Bandon Dunes. Defending champs Ryan Mitchell and Joe Sanders finished tied for 7th at 208. Next year's event will be held at the Cherry Hill Country Club in Denver, September 21-24.
