Top seeds remain at Florida State Match Play

Top-seeded Tommy Hurst among the four highest seeds to advance to the round of 16 at the Florida State Match Play

NAPLES, Fla. (August 1, 2014) — After two rounds of match play, the top-four seeds, including all three co-medalists, are alive at the Florida State Match Play. Top-seed Tommy Hurst won his matches 3-and-2, 4-and-3, while second-seed Samuel Uhland took his first match 5-and-4 only to be part of a nail biter in the round of 32 against 31-seed Christian Zimm, who took Uhland all the way to the 18th hole. The three seed, Rohan Ramnath, was victorious in two close matches — 2-up and 3-and-1. Rounding out the top four was Danny Walker, who won handedly 7-and-6 in the first round only to need an extra hole to close out Sean Smothers in the second match of the day. Both the round of 16 and quarterfinals will be played on Saturday at TwinEagles Club in Naples.
