Top seeds advance at San Francisco City Senior

The top-five seeds, including No. 1 seed Dale Bouguennec, advanced in the first round of the San Francisco City Senior

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The top-five seeds at the San Francisco City Senior Championship advanced on Saturday as the round of 32 matches were contested. No. 1 seed, Dale Bouguennec of Pleasant Hill, defeated Stephen Henrikson 5-and-4 at Presidio Golf Course. The second-seed and defending champion, Jim Williams of Orinda, had a tough time exposing of Mike Benham as the match went all the way until the 20th hole. The third-seed Mark Miller handed a 5-and-3 defeat to Jim Himler while four-seed Michael Staskus won his match against William Ratto on the 18th hole. Rounding out the top-five seeds is Rich Rowley, who hammered Rex Reese with a 7-and-6 victory. Round of 16 matchups will take place the following Saturday, April 4.
