Three years after Crane Cup title, Exber adds senior victory

PALM CITY, Fla. (Nov. 11, 2018) – Brady Exber had his Crane Cup title, but now he has a senior one to match. Three years after winning the mid-amateur division at the Floridian, Exber won the senior division on Sunday.

It didn’t come easy for the 62-year-old. Exber did the majority of the heavy lifting in the second-round when he logged a 3-under 68 to take a two-shot lead. On Sunday, he came back with his first over-par round of the week, a 2-over 73 that let Mike McCoy back in the door. The Iowa Hall of Famer had even-par 71.

When both men finished the event at 1-under 212, they went to a sudden-death playoff and Exber came out on top.

Exber is two months removed from winning the Canadian Senior Amateur. At the end of last month, he narrowly missed claiming the Las Vegas City Senior title.

As for McCoy, 55, this summer included a trip to the Senior British Open in Scotland and semifinal run at the U.S. Senior Amateur.

Jack Hall was third after three consecutive rounds of even-par 71. Chip Lutz took fourth another shot back.
