The NCGA leads in the overall Hanna-Wehrman Cup series, 24-18-9

PEBBLE BEACH, CA (October 18, 2016) -- The Hanna-Wehrman isn’t going anywhere. And this time, there wasn’t even a tie. The NCGA captured its 11th straight Hanna-Wehrman Cup on Tuesday at par-71 Poppy Hills Golf Course, defeating the NCPGA, 11-9. The winning point for the NCGA would be tallied by team rookie Kyle Davies, who defeated Dave Carr, 3 and 1. Earlier, the NCGA got a pair of big 5 and 4 wins from Granite Bay GC member Jon Peterson and 2016 NCGA Public Links champ Matt Cohn. 2015 NCGA Player of the Year Nick Moore also won, 4 and 2. Moore and Cohn won both their Chapman and Foursomes matches on Monday. The NCPGA had made things interesting after sweeping the No.4 through No.6 matches. Getting wins for the NCPGA there were Tim Huber, Tim Sands and Joe Moulton. The NCGA leads in the overall Hanna-Wehrman Cup series, 24-18-9.
