LANTANA, Tx. (April 22, 2014) -- Chuck Palmer and Gary Penn holds respective leads at the 2014 Texas North Amateur at Lantana Golf Club.
Palmer, of Dallas, shot a 3-under 69 and leads all players in the Senior Division. Penn, meanwhile, is up by four shots in the Super Senior flight.
Palmer used three straight birdies on the front nine to go low. He sits a shot up on Charlie Garza of McKinney, who shot 70. Lelan Chiles and Holis Turner are three back after even-par 72s.
Penn leads by four over a group of four players in the Super Senior Division. Craig Carlisle, John Morris, Gary Kirwan and Ronnie Green all shot 76 and will be chasing Penn in Round 2 on Wednesday.
