U.S. Senior Challenge Team: Texas wins by two

TULSA, Ok. (Oct 21, 2010) - The 26th United States Senior Challenge Team Championship concluded today at The Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow (Tulsa), Oklahoma on a perfect fall day. The Texas team of captain Tom Doughtie of Amarillo, Mike Rice of Houston, Jerry Hudgins of Houston and John Grace of Fort Worth won by two shots with a 3 day score of 652. This is the third time in the history of the team championship that a state has won back to back titles, Florida 1988-1989 and Ohio 1993-1994. Michigan jumped to second place with a final round of 203 or 13 under par on Thursday with 652. Third place was tied between Indiana and California with a 655. Jim Knoll of Sunnyvale, California won the medalist honors with two outstanding rounds of 69 and 70 – 139, or 5 under par, on a very difficult but fair golf course.
