Debbie Durham carded a second-round 81 to hang onto the lead for a second day

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (Sept. 27, 2011) -- Debbie Durham, local from Signal Mountain, who was tied forthe lead after the first round, carded a second round 81 for a two-day total of157. That was enough to hang onto the lead for a second day. Not far behindDurham is defending champion, Maggie Scott and 2009 champion GeorgiaMcCravey (Chattanooga), both with two-day totals of 160, three shots back. The course played longer, and tougher for the championship field today, and thescores reflected the changes to the course. Scores were on the rise as thetemperature fell throughout the afternoon on top of the mountain. Play begins tomorrow for the final round with a shotgun start at 9 AM. Afterround three, the 2011 Women’s Senior Amateur Champion will be crowned atSignal Mountain Golf and Country Club.
