Team Austin defeats Team San Antonio at I-35 Rudy's Cup

The team representing Austin claimed nine of the 14 singles matches on Sunday at the i-35 Rudy's Cup to defeat rival San Antonio

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas (Nov. 9, 2014) — Entering Sunday's final round, Team Austin had just a one-shot lead over Team San Antonio at the I-35 Rudy's Cup, being played at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The Ryder Cup-style matches between the two central Texas cities had Four-Ball and Foursome rounds played heading into Sunday's singles matches, where Austin won 9 of the 14 matchups. Peach and Jay Reynolds won both their matches, including an impressive 7-and-6 win for Jay Reynolds over J.J. Hall. Another impressive win came from Matt Wernecke, who defeated Danny Lee 5-and-4. Overall, the final totals were Austin beating San Antonio 17-11. San Antonio handedly defeated Austin last year by a total of 18.5 to 9.5.
