LAS VEGAS, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2014) — University of Nevada-Las Vegas sophomore Taylor Montgomery, from Henderson, Nev., defeated Kenny Ebalo in a playoff at the Las Vegas City Amateur Championship on Sunday.
Both players finished the 36-hole tournament, held at Las Vegas Golf Club, at a four-under par total of 136, with Montgomery shooting a remarkable seven-under 63 to force his way into a tie for first place.
Ebalo posted 67-69 over the weekend. The two finished two shots ahead of the rest of the field.
First-round leader Samuel Mangiaterra, who led by two after a Saturday 65, shot 73 on Sunday and finished in a four-way tie for third place at 138.
Also finishing at 138 were Blair Bursey, Brayden Erikson, and Todd Roberts.
