Steve Hudson owns eight-shot lead at Golfweek Senior National Championship

Rounds of 64 and 67 have Steve Hudson of Birmingham, Ala. in a comfortable eight-shot lead heading into Sunday

OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 17, 2015) — Steve Hudson of Birmingham, Ala. tore up Stone Creek Golf Club on Friday, carding the lowest score ever recorded in competitive play from the 6,400-yard tees — a 64. The stellar round gave him a six-shot lead after day one before a 67 on Saturday extended that advantage to eight strokes. Hudson, who won the 2014 Alabama Senior Amateur by eight last summer, will look to get another important win on Sunday. Jerry Rose of Sarasota, Fla. shot 68 on Saturday and is in second place, followed by Mike Jackson of Canada and George Walker of Mobile, Ala. at four-under.
