SOS Spring Classic: Tim Miller leads

Miller, of Venice, Fla., is two shots ahead of Mike Bell and Steve Smyers

NAPLES, Fla. (March 19, 2012) -- Tim Miller is the first-round leader after firing a 68 in the first round of the 2012 Society of Seniors Spring Classic at Twin Eagles Golf Club's Eagle Course. Miller, of Venice, Fla., is two shots ahead of Indianapolis, Ind. resident Mike Bell and Steve Smyers of Lakeland, Fla. Don Russell is alone in fourth place after the Atlanta, GA resident shot a 71. Fred Silver (Lewiston, NY) and Gary Strickfaden (Southern Pines, NC) are tied atop the leaderboard after Round 1 of the Super Seniors division. Both shot 69. Brodie Baker (Bermuda Run, NC) and John Czarnik (Trenton, MI) fired 70s and are tied for third place. Bill Stallings of McLean, Virg. leads a small Grand Masters field after a first-round 76.
