Smyers grabs lead at 2012 SOS Spring Classic

Naples, Fla. (March 20, 2012) -- Steve Smyers of Lakeland, Fla. grabbed the lead in the 2012 Society of Seniors Spring Classic with a second round 71 for a two-day total of 7-71--141. Mike Bodney of Jacksonville posted the low round of the day with a 70 and stands in second place with a 72-70--142. Michale Occi of Clarksville, MD also posted a 70 today and is alone in third with rounds of 73-70--143. Ted Smith of Wilkinson, IN leads the Super Senior division with scores of 73-70--143. Fred Silver of Lewsiton, Ky and Gary Strickfaden of Southern Pines, NC both carded 69-77-146 are in second place. In the Grand Master division, Bill Stallings of McLean, VA posted 76-75--151 and is tied for first with Claude Johnston from Ann Arbor Michigan who fired rounds of 77-74--151.
