SAN ANTONIO, Tex. (August 24, 2014) — For the second consecutive year, Danny Simmerman is the San Antonio Match Play championship.
By nature of his 2013 win, Simmerman was awarded the No. 1 seed entering the match play event consisting of 64 players. Simmerman had a couple close matches, including two matches that went 19 holes. Most recently, his semifinal matchup with former University of the Incarnate Word golfer Jared Cornish.
In Sunday's final, Simmerman battled John Culp until the 18th hole where Simmerman closed it out.
