Sierra Brooks extends lead to nine at The Sally

The Women's South Atlantic Amateur is in the commanding hands of 16-year-old Sierra Brooks after a third-round 69

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 16, 2015) — The Women's South Atlantic Amateur, three out of four rounds in, is in the commanding hands of 16-year-old Sierra Brooks of Lake Mary Prep in Lake Mary, Florida. Having entering the third round with a three-shot lead, Brooks exited Friday's round with her lowest round of the tournament — and a nine-shot advantage. Having recently de-committed to the University of Florida, schools newly vying for her attention are getting quite the show. Lori Beth Adams and Nelly Korda will need a miracle to reach Brooks during Saturday's final round. Korda, another Florida high-schooler, won last week's Harder Hall Invitational by three despite incurring a two-shot penalty on the first hole of the tournament. Adams, who graduated last year from UNC-Wilmington, shot 74 on day three and will be in Saturday's final pairing with Brooks and Korda.
