Sheppard takes Pontiac Elks Invitational

Tim Sheppard ran away with the 2013 Pontiac Elks Invitational, shooting 68-66 to win by three shots

PONTIAC, IL (Sept. 15, 2013) — Tim Sheppard of Peoria, Ill. was the only player in the 64-man field at the 2013 Pontiac Elks Invitational to shoot two consecutive rounds in the 60's. That was enough for him to claim victory on Sunday, winning the event by three shots. Sheppard's rounds of 68 and 66 led from start to finish. Michael Cushing played well, finishing in second place at 70-67. Rounding out the top three was Andy Mickelson, who at two-under par was the only other player under par after 36 holes.
