Sheppard defends at Pontiac Elks Invitational

Trailing by three heading into the last round, Tim Sheppard comes back to defend his title at the Pontiac Elks Invitational

PONTIAC, Ill. (Sept. 14, 2014) — Tim Sheppard, having won last year's Pontiac Elks Invitational, needed to come back from three down this year if he wanted to defend his title. Sheppard shot a second consecutive round of 70, and benefited from a final-round 75 from Saturday's leader Eric Izzo to make the back-to-back wins possible. Sheppard made two birdies on the back nine to shot 34, giving him a two shot win over Izzo. Izzo, who led by three after Saturday's opening-round 67, struggled on Sunday in a round that included four bogeys and a triple-bogey.
