Scott, a native of Hartwell, Ga., led the field with a remarkable 24 birdies in 54 holes. He set the pace from the start, opening with an 8-under 64 that was at least two shots better than any other player. He followed with 68 in Round 2, then closed with 63, the lowest score of any player all week.
Scott won once in 11 events during his freshman season and had six-other top-10 finishes, which included two runners-up, a third and a fourth. He was named all-conference and voted to the GCAA All-Freshman Team.
The Golden Isles title comes on the heels of the Atlanta Open title, which Scott won last month in a field loaded with professionals. He finished one shot ahead of four men tied for second.
Josh Williams had rounds of 67-66-66 to finish the week. Rusty Mosley was next at 15 under and Jake Maples, a rising senior at Georgia Southern, was fourth another shot back.
Thomas Hogan, who won this event in 2017 and is about to be a sophomore at Ole Miss, rounded out the top 5.
