PAWTUCKET, R.I. (Sept. 4, 2013) — Mike Schmidt trailed Tuesday's co-leaders by four shots entering the final round at the 2013 Rhode Island Senior Amateur Championship.
His Wednesday 66 turned everything around, jumping him into the lead for good as he took home the title.
First-round leaders, George Pirie and Gary Palmer, shot 70 and 77 respectively after their 67's on Tuesday. Pirie took solo second place, the only other player under par besides Schmidt, while Palmer fell into a tie for sixth.
