Schlacter and Vardamen win titles at the Dave King

HAYMARKET, VA (July 28, 2011) -- Paul Schlacter won the 2011 Dave King Tournament at Evergreen Country Club despite a final day charge by Robert Polk. Polk fired rounds of 71-75-70--216 while Schlacter was one better with 69-72-74--215. David Maurstad had the low round on the final day and finished the tournament with scores of 73-75-69--217. In the Super Senior division Jack Vardamen's final round 69 helped edge out Gary Strickfaden by a single shot. Vardamen had rounds of 72-7-69--211 while Strickfaden carded 69-73-70--212. Gary Shimmin was third with rounds of 71-74-71--217. Special congratulations go to Gus Kozina for his hole-in-one during the final round on hole No. 11.
