SCGA Senior Four-Ball: Two teams share 18-hole lead

The teams of Mark Harding and Jim Ream; Mel Collins and David Ujihara opened with 6-under 66's at Sand Piper Golf Club

SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 26, 2016) -- The teams of Mark Harding and Jim Ream; Mel Collins and David Ujihara opened with 6-under 66's to take the first round lead at the Southern California Senior Four-Ball. With one round remaining at Sandpiper Golf Club the leaders own a two-stroke advantage. Mark Harding and Jim Ream reached the 6-under plateau by birdieing eight holes throughout the day against just two bogeys. There most impressive run came on Nos. 12-15 when they birdied four straight holes. For Mel Collins and David Ujihara there round included five birdies and an eagle on the par-5 5th. There only blemish was a bogey on the 8th holes. Three teams --Mark Miller and Steve Wilson; Jeff Burda and Jim Knoll; Don Eklund and Bruce Loman-- are tied for third at 3-under. Six additional teams are 3-under and in a share of sixth place.
