San Francisco City Women: Four Remain

Medalist and high school girls champion Sabrina Iqbal highlights the four remaining golfers in the SF Women's City

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Number one overall seed Sabrina Iqbal continues her strong play at the San Francisco City Women's Championship. Iqbal, a former California State High School Champion, defeated Tiffany Cha 5&4 to advance to the semifinals. She will now face her toughest competitor yet in Ty Akabane of Danville, CA. Akabane, a high school freshman, made it to the semi-finals of this event last year and has since qualifed for the U.S. Amateur last fall. Look for a great match between these two youngsters. The other semifinal match will be between Belinda Hu and Sagee Palavivatana. Sagree is a recent Sacramento State graduate where she competed all four years. She'll look to use her experience to her advantage against the high school junior from San Ramon. Semifinal matches are set to begin March 12th.
