SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Sabrina Iqbal captured the San Francisco City Women's Championship in a dominating fashion Sunday, defeating Sagee Palavivatana 11&9 in the 36-hole championship match.
Iqbal was on cruise control since the start of the tournament in early February, having qualified as the number one seed with a round of 72 (six shots better than the field). She went on to close out her opening two matches by the 13th hole and then won her semifinal match via default.
The championship match was more of the same as Iqbal would only need 27 of the 36 holes to close out her opponent. The sophomore at Pioneer High School adds this title to her rapidly growing list of accomplishments that includes California High School Girls Champion.
