FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2012) -- Michael Occi fired a first-round 71 at Fiddlesticks Country Club and takes a one-shot lead after Day 1 of the 2012 Society of Seniors Championships.
In the Dale Morey Division, Occi leads Dick Anderson, John O'Malley and Richard Pfeil by one shot entering the second round of play.
Alan Fadel, Bill Boles, Dennis Helms and Paul Zarek are all tied for third place and sit just two shots back entering the second round. All told, there are 13 players within three shots of the leader.
Jerry Greenbaum has a one-shot lead in the John Owens division while John Estes leads the Grand Masters flight after a first-round 70 --- the lowest round of the day in any division.
