CASTROVILLE, Texas (Sept. 12, 2014) — No. 1 seed Danny Lee, who received a first-round bye at the San Antonio Mid-Amateur Match Play, won his round of 16 match 3-and-2 Friday against Ben Carriker. Lee will face eight-seed John Perez on Saturday morning.
In all, every high seed won their match and advanced to the quarters on Friday, including two-seed Brian Marchiori and three-seed Bobby Thomure.
Lee shot a 65 last week at qualifying to be named the No. 1 seed entering the event.
