SYRACUSE, UTAH (May 26, 2011) -- Jeff
Powars will meet Steve Poulsen in the Finals of
the 2011 Utah Senior Match Play
Championship.
Poulsen secured his place in the finals by
defeating Mike Hacker 2 and 1. Hacker's
bogey on the 14th holes pushed the match to
even and Poulsen's birdie-birdie wins on holes
16 and 17 secured him the match.
Powars won comeback fashion as well. He
went 2 down on the 7th holes but then righted
the ship and didn't lose a hole after that. He
closed out Vern Erikson on the 16th hole, 3
and 2.
