SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (March 2, 2013) -- Two teams are tied atop the leaderboard at the 2013 Pine Needles Invitational.
Gary Strickfaden and Sherrill Britt fired a first-round 65 and are notched in a first-place tie with Brian Westveer and Scott Harvey.
The leaders are two shots ahead of a group of three teams in third place.
The teams of Chris Cassetta and Matt Crenshaw, Jason Pool and Rob Menefee, and John Blackwell and Brad Mickle all shot first-round 67s and are in contention entering Round 2 of the 54-hole, four-ball stroke play event.
In the Senior Division, Chip and Roy Hunter are tied with Harold Payne and Steve Fox. Both teams shot opening-round 67s.
Dave and Doug Ison are in third place, sitting one-shot back with a first-round 68.
