Hewlett Harbor, NY (May3, 2012) -- Medalist Pat Pierson of Minisceongo GC shot 2 under par 69 at the Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor on Thursday to lead 15 other qualifiers into match play on the first day of the 2012 Richardson Invitational Championship. Edward Gibstein of Engineers CC and Daniel Abbondandolo of Brookville CC tied for second with even par 71’s. There was a match of cards at 75 to determine who made the cut. In the Senior Masters Division, Jim Graham of Winged Foot GC and Tom Yellin of the Stanwich Club were co-medalists at 72, and there was also a match of cards at 75 to determine who made that cut.
