Phillip Ebner holds slim lead atop crowded Minnesota Mid-Amateur leaderboard

On a leaderboard where 29 players are within five shots of the lead, Phillip Ebner holds a slim one-shot advantage

BUFFALO, Minn. (Sept. 23, 2014) — Phillip Ebner shot 69 in the first round of the Minnesota Mid-Amateur to lead by one stroke while 29 players are lurking behind him within five shots. Five players shot 70 on Tuesday, including last year's first and second round leader Tom Whaley. Will Hickey, Adam Wynia, Troy Johnson, and Frank Mertz also fired one-under par rounds of 70. This 54-hole event will continue Wednesday.
