The round of the day at Makai Golf Club at Princeville went to Missouri. The Tigers had a 13-under 275 (for a 15-under total) that allowed them to climb six spots on the leaderboard into second, right behind Pepperdine at 19 under. It was an impressive number considering that the second round was played under a constant rain.
Pepperdine’s Josh McCarthy is 11 under (66-67) and tied for second individually. He would be the Waves’ third straight individual winner, should he catch McNeese State’s Blake Elliott.
Elliott, for his part, is 13 under after a second-round 63 that included 10 birdies and one bogey.
Behind Missouri at 15 under, Sam Houston State is third at 12 under. Alabama Birmingham is next at 10 under.
Twelve of the 20 teams in the field are under par through 36 holes.
