JUPITER, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2011) -- Frank Babusik defeated Pete Williams 2 & 1 to win this year's Tire Kingdom Mid Amateur Match Play Championship at the Ritz Carlton GC.
After making the turn 2 down, Babusik won the 10th, 12th and 13th hole to turn the match around. A final birdie on the 17th hole clinched the victory 2 & 1.
In semifinal matches, Babusik defeated defending Champion Danny Germaine 4 & 2. and Williams defeated Steve Anderson 3 & 2.
It should be noted that earlier in the year Babusik also won the Palm Beach Mid-Senior breaking the tournament scoring record.
In other flights, winners were: 1st Flight - Brandon Brookshire, 2nd Flight - David Merrell, 3rd Flight - Paul Kaneb, 4th Flight - Jeff Higgins.
