No. 19 LSU wins David Toms Intercollegiate Title Again

Even after the start of the tournament was pushed up a day the event was shortened to 36-holes because of weather

BATON ROUGE, LA (October 7, 2017) - For the third consecutive year and seventh time in nine years No. 19 LSU won their own David Toms Intercollegiate. Playing on their home course, The University Club LSU finished 11-under and well in front of second place North Texas (+6). The event was shortened to 36-holes even after the start date was pushed up to Friday from Saturday due to weather in the area. LSU was led by Jacob Bergeron and Luis Gagne who shared medalist honors with Lewis George of Central Arkansas at 4-under. This year marks the second straight year that their has been a tie for the top-spot in the individual standings following 2016 when four LSU players including Gagne shared the honor. Gagne and Bergeron weren't the only Tigers to play well on their home-track as the rest of the Tigers lineup recorded top-15 showings; Trey Winstead (T5; -2), Philip Barbaree (T8; -1) and Nathan Jeansonne (15th; +3). The top-five of the team standings was completed by McNeese State (+16) in third, Lynn (+17) in fourth and Central Arkansas (+21) in fifth. In the medalist standings North Texas' Andrew Hudson (4th; -3), LSU's Winstead (T5; -2), Southern Illinois' Peyton Wilhoit (T5; -2) and McNeese State's Blake Elliott (T5; -2) rounded out the top-five.
