FREMONT, Neb. (June 19, 2013) -- Steve Samuelson of Fremont successfully defended his Nebraska Senior Amateur title by two strokes at his home course, Fremont Golf Club, on Tuesday with a 2-under-par 140 36-hole total.
Samuelson followed up Monday's 73 with a 4-under-par 67 Tuesday to edge fellow Fremont native John Sajevic, who posted back-to-back 71's. In addition to the championship crown, Samuelson earns the 50-57 Age Division title.
Larry Sock of Lincoln (pictured right) captured the 58-64 Age Division with a score of 151, while Thomas Olson of Omaha (pictured left) took home the 65 and older division with a 145. Olson won the championship division in 2003 and captured three 58-64 titles from 2006 to 2008. Sock, the 2012 Nebraska Senior Match Play champion, wins his first division title.
