Nebraska Match Play: Wild weather alters play

Extreme winds altered qualifying for the 44th Nebraska Match Play Championship at Wild Horse Golf Club Tuesday

GOTHENBURG, Neb. (June 21, 2011) -- Extreme winds altered qualifying for the 44th Nebraska Match Play Championship at Wild Horse Golf Club Tuesday. Play began off both tees at 8 a.m. and was suspended shortly after 9 a.m. when strong wind gusts began to blow balls around on numerous putting greens. Tuesday's play was canceled (Decision 32-2d/1) and the qualifying round rescheduled for Wednesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun. Round 1 of match play has also been amended to an afternoon shotgun at 3 p.m. Second and third round action continues as scheduled Thursday. Quarterfinal and semifinal rounds are Friday, with a 36-hole final Saturday. Please link to the pairing tab above for details on starting holes for the qualifying round. Real-time scoring will begin with match play rounds. Scores for the qualifier will be posted following the round.
