NCAA Women's: Oklahoma leads after 2 rounds

TULSA, Okla. (May 21, 2014) -- Perhaps not coincidentally, Oklahoma leads after two rounds at the 2014 NCAA Women's Golf Championship. Battling the winds and course conditions they've become accustomed to, the Sooners shot 288-287 and lead by three shots over Duke entering the third round. Winds were howling on Day 1 and the local knowledge helped the Sooners at Tulsa Country Club. After entering the second round with a three-shot lead, Oklahoma leaves with the same advantage but this time over a different team. UCLA dropped two shots to fall to fourth place, allowing the Blue Devils to climb the leaderboard. For Oklahoma, Alexandra Kaui followed her impressive first-round 68 with a 67 on Wednesday. That's good enough for a three-shot lead in the individual race. Celine Boutier (70-70) and Sandy Choi (72-71) have turned in a pair of Top 15 performances for Duke so far. The Blue Devils have some work to reach the Sooners, given Kaui's torrid pace. Arizona State is third while Arizona and USC sit tied with UCLA in fourth place.
