NAIA Men's Golf Championship: Oklahoma Christian Wins Title

Oklahoma Christian wins NAIA Men's Golf Championship behind Oscar Starks medalist performance and an unwavering team effort.

SILVIS, IL (May 27, 2011) -- The Oklahoma Christian Men's golf team proved today that they are yet another golfing powerhouse from the state that is home to perennial NAIA favorite Oklahoma City and NCAA DIV I powerhouse, Oklahoma State. The Eagles did that and more today by winning the NAIA Men's Championship at TPC at Deere Run in Slivis, Ill. by 22 strokes (281-293-283-293--1150). British Columbia was second with a team score of 293-295-293-291--1172 and South Carolina Beaufort was third with scores of 294-291-295-301--1181. Malone University had the low team score of the final day (+3) and place fourth with scores of 293--302-300-287--1183. OC Eagles golfer Oscar Stark medaled in the 156-player field with scores of 67-70-70-73-- 280 (-4), the only player to finish under par. Teammate Axel Ochoa finished second with scores of 71-74-69-71--285 while Justin Lower of Malone University finished third with scores of 74-71-72-69--286
