Montgomery Ferreira ends AJGA career by tying the all-time record

Notre Dame commit ties all-time AJGA female scoring record with a 62 at The Bridges Golf & Country Club

It was Montgomery Ferreira's last AJGA tournament, so why not go out with a bang?

Ferreira, a native of Tacoma, Wash. who will attend Notre Dame in the fall, won the inaugural AJGA Junior Open at The Bridges on the strength of a final 9-under round of 62, which tied the all-time 18-hole AJGA female scoring record.

Ferreira's historic round came one day after Zachary Pollo on Rocklin, Calif. set the all-time AJGA scoring record with a 10-under round of 60 to win the boys' division of the AJGA Junior Open on the same course.

"This was my last junior tournament and AJGA so I just wanted to have fun and play my own game and it worked."

The victory at AJGA Junior Open was Ferreira's second AJGA win of her career (previously won 2018 AJGA Junior at Big Sky) and her 16th top-10 AJGA finish. A Washington State high School champion, she is a two-time USGA Women’s Fourball Qualifier.
