MORTON, Minn. (June 13, 2012) -- Sammy Schmitz of Valleywood Golf Course easily defeated Jesse Larson, 5-and-3 in the final match of the 2012 Minnesota Golf Association Mid-Players' Championship held at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club.
Schmitz had bested Geoff Klein of Mankato Golf Club, 3-and-2 to gain access to the final match while Larson beat Andy Jacobson of Eagle Creek Golf Club, 3-and-1.
In the final match, Schmitz was 2-up at the turn and put the match out of contention with back-to-back won holes on the 10th and 11th.
